23rd Annual Belmont Shore car show in Long Beach California
Here are a few cars from today’s car show. I will be posting more photos in the days and weeks to come. I really enjoyed the show today. These pictures were picked somewhat randomly and were posted quickly. Make sure to come back for more .

I also have several other car website names for sale at Websites For Cars .com.
I think this is a 1957 Ford Ranchero
The second annual Radernation Cruise for a cause car show at Fuddruckers in Lakewood, CA. Here is a video I took at the Radernation car show. This show did have some nice classic cars and a lot of later model cars. There were also quite a few low rider cars at this show. All in all an interesting car show. This is the first car show I’ve covered where a main attraction was the people dressed in costumes. The crowd at this show leaned toward the raider fan base, so it was a bit younger and more rowdy than many of the shows I attend. It did have more young ladies in short skirts and shorts than any other show I’ve attended so far this year. It seems the Radernation Cruise for a cause car show is trying to integrate the entertainment value of the spectacle into the static nature of the car show experience. This is an interesting idea that could make car shows draw a larger crowd. However it would also change the nature of classic car shows. I think the classic car show could become a rather spectacular spectacle if this was pursued further. As productions get bigger so do the budgets. Spectacularizing car shows would probably be a bit expensive.
Here is the video for the Performance Plus Spring Cruise Car Show and BBQ. I only got a few cars in this video. My batteries were running very low. But I think you will enjoy seeing the few cars I did get. There are a lot more photos. I think I got photos of just about all the cars. I may have missed a few that were in the ally area. I did get one of the great classic trucks at the show and a 1956 Thunderbird. As I said in my previous post, so far this year, the Performance Plus Spring Cruise Car Show has been my favorite show. the caw show was held Friday May 20, 2011
Just getting back from the Performance Plus Spring Cruise night and BBQ. I know it’s late. I stopped to see relatives before leaving for home. I have to say this is a must attend Long Beach car event. It seems that as we get closer to summer the car event I attend just get better and better. While each venue has its own personality and appeal the Performance Plus Spring Cruise night was one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve been to this year. This event has character. I imagine a lot of that character comes from the owner of Performance Plus. While chatting with people at the show, many had great stories about the owner of Performance Plus that span many, many years. He actually doesn’t look old enough for all the years people have know him.
I have to say thanks for the great food. I thought the BBQ was terrific. Okay good food is one of life little pleasures but what about the cars?
The cars were terrific. While it was a small show compared to Seal Beach or Belmont shore it was well worth it. The vehicles were simply terrific.
The people I meet at car shows always seem to be great. This show had that same friendly feel of comradery. One of the things I really enjoy about car shows is learning about the cars. It’s like a little American history lesson in a fun learning environment. The educational aspect of car shows is made possible by the friendly people telling you about their cars. I find learning about the different cars and their histories is what makes car show so interesting.
Performance Plus Spring Cruise is the first car show that made me think I should have a rating system. Can any of my site visitors suggest a car metaphor rating system?
I will post more photos later.
Fun free event
This is the third year for Performance Plus Spring Cruise night, I guess that makes it an annual event. And puts it on the car show calendar. I am looking forward to this event/show/get together. I imagine the Spring Cruise night and BBQ will have a unique feel and atmosphere quite a bit different from bigger car shows.

Toyotafest the all Toyota car show in Long Beach 2011. I did not make it out to this show. Unfortunately I had to do a dog training presentation in Orange County. However I did have a Long Beach Car Show field reporter cover the event. I really wanted to see the classic Toyotas. Hopefully next year my schedule will allow me to attend. In this video there is a great 1936 Toyota and it’s not a small car. Also some vintage Toyotas that are not often seen in America. Oh yes, and there are the current and later model Toyotas that are popular with racers and the Toyota car crowd. I am also quite interested in the plug in hybrid that was at the show. It seems that my car preferences run toward the old, think classic, and the very new.
The video is a little different than what I normally do in that it is almost six minutes long and shows a bit of what took place at the entire show. I hope to have some photos later in the week.
